We’re pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Arjun Bansal to our growing team.
Arjun is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with a range of experience providing outpatient psychiatric care to a diverse population of children, adolescents, and young adults, with a wide variety of neuropsychiatric conditions. He will be working within our Medication Management department and, as a psychiatrist, he has the ability to both make or confirm a diagnosis and prescribe medication (if necessary).
Find out more about Arjun in our Q&A with him below!
What is it about psychiatry that interests you?
I enjoy the field of psychiatry because it is a field that allows me to integrate the art and science of medicine together, as well as affords an opportunity to get to know my patients and their families in a deeper and more comprehensive way.
More specifically, why did you decide to focus on working with children and teens?
I didn't realize how much I would enjoy working with children and teens until I started to actually do so; I find the work i do with them to be particularly satisfying because younger folks tend to be especially generous with their trust and honesty, which easily facilitates the development of a collaborative treatment relationship.
Can you describe your background in terms of education and training?
I completed medical school in Cincinnati, OH, and received subsequent residency training in psychiatry and child psychiatry in Atlanta and Seattle, respectively.
What kind of resource will you be for Hallowell Todaro clients?
I will be working as a consultant with patients who would like more information about what role medication can play in their treatment plan, while they continue to work with the other members of their team on the behavioral and skills aspects of their recovery process.
Who/what inspires you in regard to your career as a psychiatrist?
For me, there is no greater professional satisfaction available than when I see a child, who had previously been struggling, flourish socially, academically, and personally.
What do you look forward to most in regard to working at the Hallowell Todaro Center?
I most look forward to working with the other members of the multidisciplinary team here at the Center, and working as a team for our patients and families - being able to do so is what brought me to HTC.
